A well-crafted resume can help you snag the job of your dreams, but before you get to that point, you’ll have
to write one and make sure it’s eye-catching enough to catch an employer’s attention
in a crowded pile of applications. Don’t worry; there are plenty of do’s and don’ts of writing resumes
that will ensure your application gets the attention it deserves. While writing an effective resume can
be time consuming, following these tips will help you craft a polished piece that highlights the best parts
of your career history.
To be considered for any job, you need to have a resume.
There are some things that you should never include on your resume, such as your date of birth or marital status. The things you should include are the most relevant work experience, education, skills, certifications/training programs completed, personal interests/hobbies/activities outside of work and references. There are many different formats for resumes: chronological resume, functional resume, targeted resume, etc.
Chronological resumes start with an individual's most recent jobs first and then go backwards chronologically to their first position. Functional resumes highlight key skills without providing information about previous jobs or where they were performed. Targeted resumes focus on one particular industry sector and company needs by highlighting a candidate's qualifications in those areas specifically.
When it comes to writing your resume, there are many mistakes you can make.
Here are just some of the mistakes that people often make when they're putting together their resume:
-Writing too much about yourself and not enough about the company -Being unclear about what you want in an employer or position -Not including information that may be important for the hiring manager to know, such as skills or experience from other companies you've worked with in the past.
-Providing inaccurate contact information
Make sure you’re not making these mistakes when writing your resume:
1) Writing in first person. You should use the third person when describing your experience, like managed marketing team or handled customer complaints. You can personalize the content in other sections, like the cover letter.
2) Not including accomplishments in action verbs.
Your resume should show what you did and what impact it had on your employer or company.
It’s important to use action verbs to communicate how well you performed those tasks.
Thank you all and share it
have a nice day
